Arizona Defensive Driving Details
Our defensive driving course is suited for all computer users and virtually any computer with internet access. The course is easy to follow, easy to use and available at anytime, day or night, 24 hours a day.
To get started, simply click on the "Register" button on this page.
During registration, you will be asked for information about yourself and the citation you received.
Once you have successfully completed the course registration, you will be instructed to fax or email our office a copy of your driver's license (or equivalent ID) and a copy of your citation or court order. Our staff will then compare this information to what was included in the course registration and verify your eligibility for ticket diversion. Once our staff has confirmed these details, you will receive an email from AZDriverSafety.com letting you know that course participation may begin.
Course Participation Time
Per State rule, course participation must be timed to allow no less than 240 minutes and no more than 270 minutes. On screen timers will let you know how much time is left in each section of reading. Once the timer reaches zero, the screen will automatically advance to the next page of the course. The course does NOT have to completed in 1 sitting. You may log on and off at anytime 24/7 to participate.
IMPORTANT: Per State rule, each participant MUST complete this defensive driving course at least 7 days prior to their court date. To enforce this rule, the program will block access to the course reading at midnight of the 7th day prior to your court date.
Course Participation Questions
Per State rule, we must verify that each participant has reviewed the course in it's entirety. To confirm each user's course participation, there is a 25 question multiple choice examination that must be passed with a score of 80% or better within 2 attempts at the end of the course. This examination is based on items in the course reading, such as pictures and videos, but not necessarily about the defensive driving knowledge gained during participation. We have done our best to make these course participation questions as easy as possible for an individual that has actively participated in the course.
In Arizona, all approved defensive driving course providers must collect all fees in relation to the course. These fees include the course fee (Just $34.95), the State fee, State surcharge and the court fee (court fees vary by court). There are no hidden fees. All fees are outlined at the beginning of the registration process and on our course fees page.
